Chol Hamoed: Passover Vacation in Village Israel (2min video)

Here’s a 2 minute video of some Chol HaMoed fun. For an afikoman prize we gave our granddaughters a donkey ride. Moshav Zanoah down the road from our apartment in Beit Shemesh had animals to pet, donkeys to ride and an inflatable castle to jump in. The whole neighborhood turned out for 10 shekels a kid.

Later we went to Park Canada near Modiin for a picnic. In Israel many families take vacation during chol hamoed and it really felt like a national festival. All the picnic tables in the shade were taken, so we spread a blanket under some trees.

Next stop was the new central park in Modiin. This was the first time the new artificial lake was full and paddleboats were operating, so the park was full of young secular israel families from Modiin and large Charedi families from nearby Kiryat Sefer and Modiin Ilit. Everyone got along amazingly well.

We had to pass on the paddleboats, but the girls had a great time watching the kites flying. After a quick mincha in the middle of the park (gotta love Israel) we headed back to Ramat Beit Shemesh where we had a BBQ with friends and family.

If you can’t move here yet, then plan your next vacation around Passover and Sukkot in Israel. We can help you find a rental apartment. Better yet, buy your own home and if you don’t come to visit for a particular holiday, we can help rent it out for you.
